So...a friend of mine from high school lost his dad today in a boating accident and I don't know how to deal with it. I just want to be able to fix it for him so he won't have to go through it, but I can't. And I don't know what to do. This unearths too many feelings that need to remain bottled.

A Change In The Right Direction

Finally, some good news regarding California's Proposition 8!
A legislative committee has just backed legal efforts to try and overturn Prop H8te (that ridiculous proposition striping gays of their full rights and banning same-sex marriage).
The California Assembly Judiciary Committee had a 7-3 vote on Tuesday to put the legislature on record as opposing Prop H8te.
We'll have to wait until March 5th, though, when oral arguments will take place in the California Supreme Court.
The state Senate will be considering a companion measure in the weeks to come as well.
Baby steps!
